Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex have a variety of exciting leisure activities available to active duty military members and their family members, DoD civilians and retirees.
The 42d Services Division offers numerous programs to meet every need: entertainment, recreation, childcare, youth activities, sports activities, tickets and tours, equipment rental, and library services. The Maxwell Ticket and Tours office has special discount prices available for many area southeast attractions. The youth centers offer exciting year round activities for all ages. The base chapel also has many activities for members and families.

*Lake Martin Recreational Area

The Recreational Area is located on the Lake Martin Reservoir and is 1 hour from Montgomery. Lake Martin is an excellent for any outdoor recreational activity from fishing to hiking, is a premier spot for fishing and the most scenic in the state. There locations available for picnicking that include grills, camping spots, RV sites with water, electrical sewer, mobile home rentals and more. Make sure to reserve your vacation or time away (active duty 6 months in advance and all else 4 months in advance). To make reservations, please visit Outdoor Rec at bldg 851 Mon-Fri 10-4:30 or by calling (334) 953-3509 opt 1. There will be a $5 cancellation fee if cancelled within 7 days of check in and 1 night stay fee for cancellations within 48 hours. Please call for any other questions.

Bldg 1161 March Street
The FamCamp provides campsites for long and short term use while overlooking the base lakes. The FamCamp is open year round and allows the rental of a variety of water equipment for on or off base use.
