- Public School
- Recognizing that education is our most valuable long-term resource, commitment to quality education is evident in the educational system in the Pikes Peak region. Consistently ranking above the national averages for both SAT and ACT, area public schools feature innovative curriculum, programs for special and gifted students, and vocational enrichment programs. El Paso County includes fifteen school districts and three outlying districts. Colorado Springs, schools are accredited by the State, the Multi-State North Central Accreditation Association, or both. Additionally, Colorado schools must provide a kindergarten program, although it is not mandatory for pupils. The minimum age is five, with the birthday falling on or before 15 September of the year of enrollment. Minimum age for first graders is six years on or before 15 September of the year of enrollment.
- Because housing was not available on Schriever, numerous Schriever personnel live throughout Colorado Springs. However, with the arrival of base housing, children residing on Schriever attend Ellicott School District 22. Ellicott School District is located approximately 20 miles east of Colorado Spring. The District covers over 229 square miles. The District pupil enrollment is approximately 940 students. Currently, there is one Elementary, Middle, and High School. There is a 14:1 student/teacher ratio, full-day kindergarten, and free preschool for 3-4 year olds. To accommodate Ellicott School’s four-day school week, the Schriever Child Development Center has a School-Age Program available.

- Registration Requirements
- All new students must furnish a certified copy of birth certificate, a Social Security Number and proof of immunization against DPT, polio, measles, rubella, mumps, Hepatitis B and Varicella. In addition, proof of a physical examination is requested.
- Private Schools/HomeSchooling
- There are several private schools throughout the Colorado Springs area. In addition to public and private schools, many Coloradoans choose to home school.
- Adult Education
- Our servicing Education Center is located on Peterson AFB. Representatives from various schools are available on Schriever AFB throughout the month, call 719-567-5927, DSN 312-560-5927 for school representative's schedules. . Limited services are offered on base, along with a variety of classes in graduate and undergraduate studies. Higher education facilities in the Pikes Peak region provide an abundance of educational opportunities - over 200 programs embrace arts, science, business, engineering, medicine, and law; 60 fields of study lead to postgraduate degrees.
