BOOK YOUR LOCAL HOTELS The closest off-base hotels and motels are just east of the Base along I-5. There are more hotels about 5 miles northwest of the Base in downtown San Diego.
Reporting Aboard
If you need a ride from the San Diego Lindbergh Field Airport to Naval Medical Center San Diego go to the USO counter in the west terminal. They can arrange a ride from the airport to the hospital for you at a minimal cost. The telephone number to the USO is (619) 296-3192 and they are open from 9am to 11pm
Military Personnel
Upon arrival, report to the Quarterdeck to have the Officer-of-the-Day (OOD) endorse your orders.Then proceed to the Receipts, Transfer and Leave Desk located in the Human Resources Department (HRD) to start your check-in process. If you report to the OOD after normal working hours, then report to HRD the next working day at 0800. HRD is located in Building 2, Ground Level
