Fort Belvoir offers a variety of activities and is proud to have a very complete Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Program.
Recreation facilites include two fitness centers, a nine-hole and two 18-hole golf courses, indoor and outdoor pools, and an archery range. Personnel can also pursue hobbies (there is an automotive shop, bowling center, and community center with pool tables) and outdoor interests (marina, outdoor recreation equipment, wildlife and wetland refuges).
Fort Belvoir Youth Services plans numerous activities for all age groups including trips to amusement parks and roller-skating. Youths are given the opportunity to see wonderful museums, concerts, sporting events and other sites of interest in Washington D.C. which is only 15 miles away. Local clubs and organizations include Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts. Recreation and sports opportunites include skating, gymnastics, and music lessons.
The Sports and Fitness Program offers a wide variety of social and recreational programs for youth 6-18 years of age. Our coaches are certified with the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. Team sports such as football, track, t-ball, softball, tennis, basketball and baseball are available.
The Fort Belvoir chapel offers various programs for adults and youth. These programs include religious education classes, choir, Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and special events such as retreats, lock-ins, and trips.
