The Peterson AFB Legal Office provides assistance in the following areas:
Legal Assistance
Provides consultation for child support, divorce, financial issues, or wills (including living wills and Health Care Powers of Attorney), and other private personal civil legal matters. Please call 719-556-4871 to schedule an appointment. Please note the legal office is closed on Thursdays from 1030 to 1300.
All Active-Duty members and their families are eligible for the following services.
Notary Service
A notary public is available at the legal office. No appt. is necessary for notary service-just walk in within the posted time.
Powers of Attorney
You may obtain a power of attorney Mon-Fri., 8:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Only the grantor need be present. No appt. necessary.
Affidavit of Non-Residence for Vehicle Registration in Colorado
You may pick up this form between 7:30am and 4:30pm or print the form from the El Paso County DMV website. You may either have it notarized by the legal office or you may have your commander sign the backside.
Last Will & Testament
If you need a new Will or simply want to update your existing Will, stop by the legal office for a worksheet. Fill out the worksheet and call to schedule a time to meet with an attorney. If you would like a Living Will, or other medical related powers of attorney, Legal can take care of this during the appointment for the Last Will & Testament.
The Victim/Witness Program
Is supported by an advocate in the Legal office and supports victims and/or witnesses of any crime.
