- Travel Planning
- Temporary Lodging Reservations
- You are eligible to stay in Temporary Lodging if you are on orders - either TDY or PCS. Temporary accommodations on the base are limited. PCS-out has first priority in the Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF). Reservations for PCS-in may be made for two weeks with possible extensions. For reservations, please call the TLF office, 307-773-3077 or DSN 312-481-3077.
- Length of Stay
- All military members residing in the TLF are authorized to remain there for up to 30 days; however only 10 days will be reimbursed.
- Permissive TDY
- Request permissive TDY for house hunting at your current installation. The commander can grant up to 8 days; 10 days if returning from overseas and not in conjunction with your PCS move.
- Temporary Lodging Reservations
- Reporting Procedures
- Upon arrival, you should immediately report to your gaining unit during duty hours. The 24-hour arrival point after duty hours is Crow Creek Inn located in Building 216, 307-773-3077, DSN 312-481-3077.
- Once you have signed into your new unit, the Military Personnel Element will schedule you for a newcomer's briefing known as Right Start. The Right Start Newcomer's event is held the second Wednesday of each month at the Fall Hall Community Center. Various agencies are ready to assist you at the Information Fair held during the Right Start briefings. If you did not obtain a sponsor prior to arrival, contact your unit during duty hours for assistance in obtaining a sponsor.
- First Term Airmen's Center (FTAC)
- The FTAC program is mandatory. In one week, airmen complete a five step program to include inprocessing, professionalism briefings, ancillary training, mission orientation, and miscellaneous transition needs.
- Documents to Hand Carry
- Ensure to hand-carry PCS orders, household goods inventories, marriage certificates, ID cards, DEERS info/cards, weight receipts if Personally Procured Move (PPM) (formerly DITY move), and all other documents of value.
- Spouse Orientation
- The Airman & Family Readiness Center hosts a Military Spouse Orientation Tour quarterly for all newly arrived spouses no matter the length of service. Contact A&FRC at 307-773-5945, DSN 312-481-5945 for more information.
- How to Obtain a Sponsor
- Contact the nearest Military Personnel Element to obtain a sponsor or call your gaining unit and ask to speak with the INTRO Monitor.
- If you get Married Enroute
- If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures
