Legal Services - The office of the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) is on the third floor of Amber Hall (354 Broadway St), and is open Monday through Friday, 0730-1630. The office provides legal services to military members and their families.
Services Offered - Walk-in legal assistance is available 1300-1400 Mondays and 0900-1000 Wednesdays. The legal assistance program offers consultation, advice, and assistance with personal civil matters. For information, you may call (907) 377-4114.
Wills and living wills are prepared by appointment only. Those wishing to make an appointment should visit https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil to fill out a will worksheet, and then call (907) 377-4114 with their ticket number to schedule an appointment.
Powers of attorney, bills of sale, promissory notes, and other matters involving services of a notary public are available 0730-1630 Monday through Friday. Those wishing to create a power of attorney can also visit https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil to fill out a power of attorney worksheet, and then bring their ticket number with them to the legal office.
Claims Services - The DD Form 1840/1840R must be submitted to the carrier within 70 days after delivery of a household goods shipment. This process is now completed online at https://claims.jag.af.mil or through the DPS move http://www.move.mil. This online process only applies to Air Force sponsored moves. Questions regarding the process may be addressed to the Air Force Claims Service Center at (877) 754-1212.
