Legal Assistance
Legal assistance in the Dyess AFB Staff Judge Advocate's office is available Monday - Friday. Walk-in service is available Tuesday 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Deployment/Emergency cases do not require an appointment and will be seen as soon as possible. No Legal Assistance Will Be Given Over The Phone.
Types of Services
Legal advice is available on personal civil legal matters such as:
- Divorces
- Adoptions
- Naturalization
- Name changes
- Consumer problems
- Child support
- Insurance
- Personal finances
- Sale or lease of realty
- Taxation
- Contracts
While attorneys cannot represent you in civilian courts, they can provide competent information and advice.
Additional Services
Other available services include:
- Wills/Will Executions (by appointment only): Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Complete Will Worksheet prior to scheduling an appointment and call the legal office to provide ticket number as soon as possible;
- Notaries & Powers of Attorney: Monday - Thursday - 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. & Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; and
- Article 37 Briefing: 2nd Wednesday of the month at 8:00 a.m. & 4th Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m.
To save time for Wills and Powers of Attorney, clients should consider filling out the worksheets on the Air Force Legal Assistance Website at https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/lass/lass.html. Please bring in the ticket number, generated at the time the worksheet is prepared.
Household Goods Claims Services
Claims forms (DD Form 1840) may be dropped off anytime.
