Base Regulations
Cell Phone Use -- Strickly prohibited while operating a motor vehicle aboard NAS Whiting Field.
Traffic -- Speed limit on base is 25 mph unless otherwise posted.
Vehicle Checks -- Unannounced vehicle checks are routinely conducted by security. Vehicle inspections on newly purchased vehicles are conducted upon request.
Accidents -- Base Security has jurisdiction on base. In Base Housing, state and local law authorities also may enter if the situation is warranted and requested. Automobile Insurance is mandatory.
Criminal Offenses --The crime rate in the Milton area is extremely low, consisting of mostly petty offenses.
Crime Stoppers -- Crime Stoppers Hotline - 850-437-7867.
Restricted Areas -- The perimeter road around the air station is for government vehicle use only. Other than that, there are no restricted areas.
Photography --There are no restrictions for taking photos on base, however, discretion is advised.
Weapons -- Occupants of Family Housing are required to register personal weapons with the Security Office. Bldg. (3026)
Pass and ID Office
The Pass and ID office is located in Bldg 48A NAS Whiting Field and can be reached at 850-623-7205. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6 am until 4 pm. Visitors Passes can be obtained at the gates any time. Appointments for new ID and CAC cards can be madeonline.
Registering Vehicles in Florida
Vehicle registration is done through the County Clerks Office at the Santa Rosa County Office Complex, Hwy 90 in Milton, Fla. They can be reached at 850-981-5570 and hours of operation are 8am until 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday.
As of December 10, 2004 when a member of the military who is a permanent resident of the State of Florida seeks to register or title any aircraft, boat, mobile vehicle, or other vehicle in Florida, which was purchased outside the State of Florida, the transaction is subject to Florida Sales and Use Tax.
As of September 2009, rates have changed dependant on the weight of the vehicles. Call the Dept of Motor Vehicles 850-983-1800 for more information. Be sure to let them know you are military on orders, in some instances they can waive the registration fees.
Boat Registration
Boat registration is done through the County Clerks Office at the Santa Rosa County Office Complex, Hwy 90 in Milton, FL. Telephone 850-983-1800.
Pass and Tag
Location: Building 48A, turn right just inside the West Gate entrance of Whiting Field
Pass & Tag Office Hours
The Pass & Tag Office is open from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday.
Who needs to register their vehicle on NAS Whiting Field:
- Any Military personnel that are assigned to NAS Whiting Field.
- Civilian personnel that work on NAS Whiting Field.
- Civilian personnel that are contracted to work on NAS Whiting Field.
To register your vehicle on NAS Whiting Field you will need the following:
- Current (Valid) registration
- Current proof of insurance
- Valid drivers license
- Military identification or Civilian identification showing that you are assigned or work on NAS Whiting Field
