Travel Planning
Temporary Lodging Reservations should be made as soon as you have an arrival date to Tinker AFB. *Normal reservation for inbound PCS to the installation is 14 days but may be extended if needed and rooms are available. Request for extension must be done in writing prior to projected departure. Extension request are available at the Guest Service reception desk. Rooms are arranged for 4-people, if you have more than 4 in your family, you may reserve more than one room. There are a limited number of pet friendly rooms available. You may only have two-pets per room and vaccination records are required. There is an additional $10.00 fee per night for the pet friendly rooms. *If you are enlisted and this is your first duty assignment, before you are permanently assigned to your unit, you will attend FTAC (First Term Airman Center).

Inprocessing Procedures
If you arrive between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, report to your unit commander. If you arrive after duty hours or on a weekend/holiday, the 24 hours arrival point is the Indian Hills Inn located at 4002 Mitchell Drive. Their phone number is DSN 312-884-2822 or 405-734-2822. Before departing for Tinker AFB, ensure you maintain contact with your sponsor to notify them of the date and time of your arrival.
Inprocessing Briefings
After arrival you will be scheduled for the following briefings:
1.Base Inprocessing: Members inprocess with their unit CSS/Orderly Room. Base inprocessing includes gaining the new member onto the base, travel vouchers, Permissive TDY for house hunting and scheduling the member for the Newcomers Briefing. Finance holds a daily briefing at 9:00 a.m. for members who need to file their travel voucher in building 1, door 8.
2.The Newcomers Orientation: This briefing is held every first and third Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. All attendees must report to the First Term Airman Center NLT 7:15 a.m. at Bldg 5899 (just west of the main gym) for the morning briefing. Briefings include, welcome address from the installation commander and the 72d Air Base Wing Command Chief, briefings from the Inspector General, TMO, Legal, Chapel, Military Family Life Consultant, Housing Office, Safety, Emergency Management and Equal Opportunity. Lunch is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After lunch attendees will then report to the Tinker AFB Clinic's Heritage Hall NLT 12:00 p.m. for the 72d Medical Group's Inprocessing. 72d Medical Group inprocessing consists of; Medical Group Orientation, Dental Clinic, Family Advocacy, Health and Wellness Center, ADAPT and Tricare. Spouses are encouraged to attend both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Getting Married Enroute
If you get married before you PCS or en route, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing for your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
Out-Processing
Outbound Assignments is located in Building 460. The hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The telephone number is 405-739-3615.
