Introduction
The Greater Kingsville Area is comprised of four public Independent School Districts. Kingsville ISD offers a Pre-K through 12th grade program. Santa Gertrudis ISD offers Pre-K through 12th grade. Ricardo ISD offers a K through 8th grade program. Riviera ISD offers Pre-K through 12th grade. School in South Texas starts in mid-August. Some year-round schools will start in July. Each year, The State of Texas offers an Annual Sales Tax Holiday - purchases of most clothing and footwear priced under $100.00 are exempt from sales and use taxes. Please check with your school before purchasing too much clothing. Some schools require students to wear clothing in specific colors (not uniforms) only.
Your children are eligible to enroll in the district they live in. Ricardo, Riviera, Bishop and Santa Gertrudis sometimes allow open enrollment, allowing you to live in one district and attend another. Ricardo has no High School so you can select either Kingsville or Riviera from Ricardo.
TRAWING 2 student pilots have a distance/drive time requirement that may not allow you to live in Calallen or Corpus Christi. Please confirm with your command.
For a "School Report Card" visit the public schools review website.
Please contact the NAS Kingsville’s School Liaison Officer (SLO) before you bring your children to Kingsville. The “SLO” is a newly created DOD-wide position to help in the transition to the new school system.
Kingsville’s SLO welcomes your calls on the duty cell phone rather than calling the office. You may reach the SLO between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 361-675-0112.
