Registration
Active-duty military personnel do not need to obtain a Tennessee driver's license if they have a valid license from another state. However, dependents have 30 days to obtain a Tennessee license. New DoD civilian and contractor personnel moving to Tennessee need to obtain a Tennessee driver's license within 30 
days.
Privately owned vehicles operated inside the fenced mission area must be registered at Pass and Registration, located immediately outside the main gate. Military persons, permanent party DoD civilians and contractor employees are issued DoD decals and Arnold AFB identification tabs. Others receive temporary vehicle passes that must be displayed in the vehicle windshield while inside the fenced mission area.
AEDC Security Forces have the authority, jurisdiction and responsibility to provide law enforcement and security for all of Arnold AFB. Officers issue traffic citations, respond to emergencies, investigate criminal activity, complaints and incidents and make arrests when required. AEDC police officers are deputized in both Coffee and Franklin counties.
