Activities
There are so many activities for each and every military base that we’re asking for your help and listing them. So please tell us what you think the next person PCSing to your location should know about activities on or off base for you and your family.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES: Sheppard AFB has many recreational activities for children and adults including golf, bowling and camping and fishing at Lake Texoma. A new state-of-the-art Youth Center offers a variety of recreational programs for students from kindergarten to 18 years of age. These programs include ballet classes, piano lessons and computer classes.
SPORTS: The Youth Center is the hub for youth sports programs, including little league baseball, T-ball, softball, football, and basketball.
RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES: Most religious organizations have special programs for their youth, including religious education, children's church, children's Sunday school, youth ministries, etc.
CHAPEL SERVICES & PROGRAMS: Three Chapels and a religious education facility, staffed by a dedicated group of chaplain service specialists, program coordinators and laity, meet the spiritual needs of the Sheppard community. The chapel program includes a variety of Catholic and Protestant worship opportunities. Full active programs for men, women and youth are available including choirs, a preschool through adult religious education program, and a specialized student airman ministry featuring weekend retreat opportunities. Please refer to the Topic Contacts/Links for times of chapel services.
