Child Development Center

Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 6:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Closed Weekends & Holidays)

The Pine Bluff Arsenal Child Development Center is housed in a state-of-the art facility. In December 2005 the Child Development Center received its National Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The center offers programs from infant to preschool, by certified child care workers, for children six weeks through five years of age. Currently there is a waiting list for all programs.

The Child Development Center's developmentally appropriate curriculum and low caregiver to child ratio ensure a supportive, comfortable and accepting atmosphere for every child. Pine Bluff Arsenal Child Development Services (CDS) programs are designed to help your child develop within himself/herself a positive self-concept that will help them develop into productive adults. We strive to do this by providing a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment where children and youth feel accepted and respected for being the unique person that he/she is. We provide a place where they have opportunities to participate in age appropriate, developmental activities as part of a group or individually that allows for optimal social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive growth.

School Age Services (SAS)

There is also a School Age Services (SAS) provides before and after school care for children in  1st grade through 6th grade. All children enter a caring and supervised atmosphere where each child enjoys directed and self-directed activities at the Pine Bluff Arsenal SAS facility. Children can participate in intramural sports program in our gymnasium, learn about computers in an state of the art computer lab, enjoy competitive tournaments in our game room, create unique arts and craft project, complete their homework and stretch their young muscles on our large and well-equipped playground.

The program operates before and after school, during school holidays, teacher in-service days and during school vacations. During Christmas, spring, and summer breaks regular SAS patrons will pay camp fees. Daily fees for the occasional user are available for SAS age children on a space available basis.

Breakfast and snack are included as part of the Before and After School program. During school breaks, the SAS program provides full day meals.

All programs are USDA Certified.

Middle School Program

This program is open to enrolled youth from the 7th – 12th grades.  Our Middle School Program offers teens the opportunity to join specialty clubs stressing community involvement and volunteerism, participate in field trips throughout Arkansas, explore the computer and internet, and receive tutoring and mentoring. Additionally the youth participate in many social activities and self-directed projects. This program operates after school, during school holidays/teacher in-service days and during school vacations. Snack is included daily as part of the program as well as lunch during non-school attendance days. No cost for after school program.

Middle School Program offers 4-H Clubs as well as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. These organizations allow local and worldwide partnerships to grow and develop, which will in turn, will help fulfill and enrich the lives of youth on the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

Family Child Care Homes (FCC)

At this time there are no FCC homes located on the Pine Bluff Arsenal. However, we are always looking for individual that might be interested in becoming a Certified Child Care Provider. You may require about this service thru our Central Registry.
