*There are so many activities for each and every military base that we’re asking for your help and listing them. So please tell us what you think the next person PCSing to your location should know about activities on or off base for you and your family.
Little Rock AFB offers a variety of exciting leisure activities available to the Littlerock AFB community; such as; The William J. Clinton Presidental Center; River Market; The Zoo and not to mention the many many eating establishments. In addtion to the off base community the base community can enjoy the many attractions that the local base puts on yearly. Littlerock AFB host fishing tournaments and canoe races; including the annual father and kids fishing tournament; hunting season on base; the annual air show and much more. DOD civilians and family members are encouraged to participate in activities at Little Rock AFB. Everyone is encouraged to be a part of the fun and adventure by participating in organized sporting events, aquatics, outdoor recreation, entertainment, and many other high energy and enriching programs. There are plenty of things to do and see in the capital city of Little Rock and surrounding areas. Historical attractions, museums and beautiful parks are some of the more popular diversions. Much of the state's history lies within a concentrated area of the downtown area within easy walking distance of parking facilities. There are a multitude of city parks designated for scenic and recreational activities such as golf and tennis. Nearby Lake Maumelle has an active sailing club, and area swimming pools offer respite from the summer heat. Walking and biking paths along the river-oriented parks provide outdoor recreational opportunities.
Arkansas is home to the "Razborbacks" with Little Rock being home to several sporting teams. The Arkansas Travelers is an AA minor league baseball team that plays games at Ray Winder Field in War Memorial Park. The Traveler's, (farm club of the St. Louis Cardinals), compete in the Texas league. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) Trojans basketball team plays home games at Barton Coliseum.
