There are so many activities for each and every military base that we’re asking for your help and listing them. So please tell us what you think the next person PCSing to your location should know about activities on or off base for you and your family.
Ranging from sports and fitness to outdoor adventure, the 10th Services Squadron, provides a wide range of operational support and programs which enhance force readiness and esprit de corps to stimulate the mental, social, and physical well-being of Academy personnel (married and single) and their authorized family members. The able staff of 10th Services strives to provide the best programs and activities to meet your leisure and recreational needs . The Youth Center provides a full range of seasonal sports to include T-ball, baseball, soccer (indoor and outdoor), flag football, and basketball as well as special events. Classes in karate, dance, tumbling, and music are also offered for minimal fees.
The Base Community Center Chapel offers religious programs for all ages. In addition to the daily and weekly services, the staff of the Community Center chapel offer regularly scheduled groups and activities to meet your spiritual needs. Worship services are also offered at the Cadet Chapel. Off base, there are a variety of churches of all denominations.
Newcomers to the Academy quickly learn why Colorado attracts millions of tourists each year. Aside from the Cadet Chapel being the number one, man made attractions in the state, Colorado Springs enjoys a wide array of cultural attractions, including year-round musical performances, dance companies, theatres, and other fine arts. Long sunny days and magnificent outdoor settings await you in Colorado Springs. There are more than 114 parks covering over 6,400 acres, offering tennis courts, swimming pools, athletic fields, playgrounds, and more. The western flavor of the region makes horseback riding a popular pastime. Recreational opportunities are available for every age and interest. Colorado Springs is known as a "City of Churches". There are numerous churches representing all denominations located throughout Colorado Springs.
