• Reporting Procedures
  • Inprocessing is done on an individual basis in the Military Personnel Element Customer Service Office, 427 Liberty Drive, Building 246. Because you cannot be paid for travel expenses until you inprocess, this needs to be done as soon as possible. You must bring all personnel, medical, and financial records when inprocessing.
  • SUPT/APT students (as well as Reserve, Guard, and Foreign Exchange Student pilots) will bring their in processing documents to the Transition Office prior to in processing at the MPE to ensure appropriate student in processing has been completed prior to Laughlin in-processing. The 47 STUS (Student Squadron) Transition Office is located in building 320, Room A133. You can call the Transition Office at 830-298-5211 for additional information.
  • You will also need to visit Pass and Registration, you may contact Security Forces Squadron at 830-298-5349, located in the Security Forces building, 355 Colorado Drive, Bldg 139. Your vehicle must be registered on base within 72 hours of arrival. If your vehicle is registered out of state, check with pass and registration for the laws of your state. You will need to have a valid vehicle registration and proof of insurance for this appointment. At this appointment you will also be asked to register any weapons if you intend to live on base (personnel living in the dormitories are NOT ALLOWED to maintain weapons in their residences at Laughlin AFB).
• DBIDS
  • All newly arriving personnel and their family members authorized to military installations must now register with the DBIDS system.
  • The 47 FTW Wing Commander mandates the entire Laughlin AFB Community (to include Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Dependents, and Retirees) to register into the DBIDS system. Registration efforts as soon as you arrive to the base will prevent unnecessary delays in the future.
  • Registration locations and times are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Building 139 (47 SFS) & Visitor Control Center (Trailer adjacent to the Main Gate at #1 Liberty Drive).

• Travel Planning
  • If arriving after hours, the 24-hour arrival point is the Laughlin Manor, Building 454, located at 4th and Arnold Streets across the street from the AAFES/BX parking lot. They will assist you in securing temporary accommodations and transportation to on-base quarters. The temporary lodging facilities on base have kitchen facilities, bedroom area, private bath and other conveniences. Laughlin has only four "pet friendly " temporary lodging rooms and if they are occupied you will need to make arrangements for your pets in a local community boarding facility. • If you get Married Enroute
  • If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.  Additionally, if you are an SUPT student you should also notify the Transition Office of your marital status to ensure adequate housing is available prior to your arrival.
