Travel Planning
If you are planning on flying into SEATAC Airport, realize that Naval Station Everett (a.k.a., the Base) is about 45 miles north of the airport and the Smokey Point Navy Support Complex is 11 miles north of the Base. It is strongly recommended that you make local transportation arrangements through your sponsor, gaining command or commercial means before arriving at SEATAC Airport. For ground transportation services, click here. If you arrive at SEATAC Airport and have no transportation arrangements and cannot pay for transportation, please visit the USO on the second deck of the main terminal of the SEATAC airport for assistance. This is a full service USO, with showers, sleeping area, lounge, computer/internet, food, reading material and more.
If you have not been assigned a sponsor, you should contact your future command Sponsor Coordinator. This information should be on your orders. Having a sponsor can make this relocation experience less stressful plus they can provide you with information specific to you and your family's needs. Single Sailors will most likely be provided a room in the BEQ, (425-304-3402); married service members may stay at the Gateway Inn visitor quarters, (877-628-9233); families with pets may stay at the Navy Lodge (800-NAVY-INN). Reporting Procedures
Newly arriving personnel reporting to Naval Station Everett must check in with the station Quarter Deck, available 24/7/365, located in building 2000 at the Naval Station, phone number 425-304-3366 or DSN 312-727-3366. Sailors attached to NAVSTA will have their orders stamped and be directed to the Training Office which is located on the 3rd deck.
Sailors attached to a ship will be sent directly to the ship for check-in. If the ship is not in port at the time of check-in you will be assigned to a Temporary Personnel Unit until your ship arrives or until transportation to your ship has been arranged.

It is strongly suggested that you make reservations for temporary quarters early in your trip planning to ensure you have a place to stay upon arrival. Your Sponsor may be able to assist you with this.
The FFSC can provide information and assistance with issues that relocating personnel face. HIGH RISK CATEGORY SERVICE MEMBERS should CONTACT the Fleet and Family Support Center Relocation Specialist BEFORE ARRIVAL if possible, or IMMEDIATELY AFTER ARRIVAL. Service Members in a HIGH RISK CATEGORY are:
E-1 to E-4 with dependents; Any service member, enlisted or officer, married less than 1 1/2 years (especially those married enroute); Any Service Member reporting to a Duty Assignment for the FIRST TIME; Any Service Member (single or married) moving off-base for the first time; Any Service Member in financial difficulties.
Documents to Hand carry
Active duty members should bring orders and service record for inprocessing. Medical records for both you and your family members should be hand carried if possible. If you are married enroute, make sure you have a copy of your marriage certificate. Upon arrival, this will be needed for you to apply for benefits for your spouse. If possible, bring a copy of school records to speed up the process of appropriate school placement and continued educational plans.

What to do if you get Married enroute?
If you get married before you PCS you MUST inform your command and follow the procedures exactly as they are given. The military will NOT pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
