Inprocessing Procedures
Instructions will accompany your welcome packet from your sponsor. If you have not received sponsor information within 45 days of your PCS, please go through the INTRO Manager at your current base. Report to your gaining unit's orderly room for in-processing information. During normal duty hours, 7:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m., Cannon newcomers report directly to their unit administrative section to initiate base in-processing. After duty hours, weekends or holidays, report to the Cannon Caprock Inn lodging office, 401 S. Eagle Claw Blvd., Building 1801. The phone number is 575-784-2919/DSN 312-681-2919.
Inbound federal service employees should report Civilian Personnel, located at the Base Support Center (Building 600), Room 2038) 110 E. Alison Ave during normal duty hours, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You are required to attend Commando Newcomer’s Orientation, held in the Consolidated Club twice a month. Spouses are welcome and highly encouraged to attend. Call your unit admin section or DSN 312-681-2033 for details.
Information Fair -- this event for newcomers is held in the Consolidated Club twice a month in conjunction with Commando Newcomer’s Orientation and begins at approximately 11:00 a.m. You will receive valuable information on your new area.
AFI 36-3003 requires you to receive your gaining commander's written permission prior to any permissive house hunting.
Getting Married Enroute
If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them, the military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
