Home Organizing Tips
Organization can be the death of you but with some people it can always be the best thing for them. Organization always is the best thing to do when moving into a new home after PCSing but it can always be a good thing for a start over. I love to organize because it makes things run very smooth for me, and it can help with kiddos cleaning the toys off the floor or even taking their clothes upstairs. So Lets get started with some amazing organizational hacks that I love!!
Well like before, The Dollar Tree is my bestfriend; it is very cheap and you can get a lot of things to organize without spending a ton of money. DIY projects are always fun to do with the kids because they can make things the way they would like. So my favorite number one tip for organization is BASKETS! You can never go wrong with baskets, plastic, tin and so on! Below is what I do to keep my daughters clothes and the husbands clothes organized after washing and folding.
1. Plastic Bins/Buckets - This was my favorite DIY craft that I did with my daughter. I went to the Dollar Tree and got plastic bins that were big enough to fit clothes and even toys. I got the color that she wanted so she could have a fun time decorating, and I did the same for me and the husband, (I did my husbands bucket because he could care less about decorating haha). I got stickers and sharpies for Isabella, my daughter, and let her decorate the plastic bucket how ever she would like! This whole project cost me $7.00 total which is awesome. Isabella had a purple plastic bin that she put Princess stickers all over. What little girl doesn't love princesses these days! And when she was done I put her name on the bucket so she knew that it was hers. Even though I am sure we would know because her bucket is covered in Princesses. With my husbands bucket I got the color blue and just put his name on it with my not so nice block letters so it could look like a man and not all girly! After the bins were done, I placed all clothes inside that needed to go upstairs and sat them on the step so that we knew we had to take them to the designated room. I also use my daughters bucket for her dirty clothes she knows if her clothes are dirty to put them in her bucket it makes things very organized and simple!
2. Under the Kitchen Sink - Once again Dollar Tree is the way to go! Since I keep all my cleaning supplies under my kitchen sink, it never stays organized and it was driving me crazy. I found out that a small bath caddy works wonders! I actually bought at least three so I had enough room for all my cleaning products. In one of the organizers I put srubbing sponges, and bathroom/ bathtub and shower supplies. In my other two organizers I put all my kitchen, and floor cleaning supplies; which included all mopping, counter top cleaners, and all smelly good sprays!!! This was so much easier then everything just being put down under near the sink. You can always get more bath caddies and put upstairs or even in different bathrooms. It was life saving for me to have all my cleaning supplies organized.
3. Freezer and Refrigerator- Oh my goodness I think this is where everyone needs organization, no matter what you cant be organized enough for these appliances, with that being said I use stackable plastic bins! I am so organized I have everything labeled and ready to go. In my Chest freezer everything is organized by what meat it is or even ice cream or of course Pizza Rolls. PS. you can ever have enough Pizza Rolls!!! In my freezer I have the same organization but have frozen vegetables in a separate bin and even microwaveable quick meals. The Refrigerator can be a little more confusing due to have more things like milk, eggs, etc. My best tip is to always make sure you have your refrigerator the way you want it, everyone is different, how they organize their refrigerator, and where they want things. I always make sure I can see everything perfect so I have no trouble trying to find things.
4. Pantry Makeover!! - Pantry Makeovers are amazing, some people like to have their pantry to match the kitchen theme, which in that case you can go anywhere you would like to have that feel. I have tin baskets and tin buckets to put in my pantry for the farmhouse feel, with some burlap wrapped around my buckets! It is so adorable sometimes I just open my pantry and take a look! I have everything labeled from cereal, pasta, baking (which includes brownie mix and cake mixes etc.) snacks for the kids, etc. Once again everyone likes to organize the way they want so they have easier access to the way to style the living space.
Organization can be very stressful but in the end it is totally worth it, it make things run so much smoother and helps out the family. Always remember you can always go to Pinterest or even google to print out free printables for labeling. I always try to reorganize things once a month to declutter and tidy up, it makes you feel like a new person when you are all done. I hope everyone got a great value from this blog and learn some of my favorite tips of organization.
