Date Night: Fort Benning
PCSing to a new area can be very stressful but just take a deep breath and know it is a brand new start. Not knowing an area very well can very stressful, but in just a click of a button or a look up on the social media it can be very easy, but you do not have to worry about that. Fort Benning, Georgia has some amazing date night ideas and entertainment you can do to get your mind of the stressful time you might be having with the recent move.
Fort Benning is a Army installation that is located in the heart of the southern in Georgia. Fort Benning is also a Basic Training base for new recruits who are joining the Army. Don't worry you will see them everywhere and it will be a second nature to you after you have been there for a little. Not far from the post there is will be lots of things to adventure and get out and see.
Entertainment and Enjoyment
Coca Cola Space Science Center- Not far from post,this can be a fun opportunity to get out and see about the what the Space Center is all about , you can also enjoy this with the family too if you have family in town helping with your move and also fun with the kids.
Columbus White Water on Chattahoochee River - White Water Rapids can you say an amazing fun summer activity for a weekend. This is something you can do for a weekend and go and have a little thrill seeker. Get out and enjoy the time you have with each other and get to have the time of your life.
Chattahoochee River Walk- Getting out and just walking around and enjoying the new environment that your living in.
National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center - Are you a history junkie or your spouse or even your kids? This can be an amazing opportunity to see what our military have evolved over the past centuries.
Uptown Columbus- Are you interested in shopping, famers markets, art and more? Than this is one spot you do not want to miss! With things happening every weekend this is the place you do not want to miss out on! Uptown Columbus also offers a season farmers makert which makes an outing for the entire family; enjoy the local artistry and farm fresh produce.
Dining is always the thing that people have the worst time doing, picking a place to go, what they feel like eating or even just going to sit at a pub and have a relaxing drink. When we go out at night this is always a time or my husband and I to enjoy ourselves for a couple of hours while we are kid free. I know you probably cant always find a place to keep your kiddos at but you also need the time to step away and enjoy the time with you spouse.
Canon Brew Pub- Fort Benning they say this is the go to place for the night out! They have there own brewery and amazing menu options . From a classic cheese burger to a wood burning , tasty homemade pizza you couldn't ask for anything better , I mean who doesn't love pizza and beer!

Country Barbecue - With me I am a sucker for homemade from scratch good southern cooking meals. It makes me feel like I am home, but who wouldn't want a good homemade comfort food dinner? So if you are feeling a family style good home cooking meal this is the place to go!
PHILLY-osophy - Okay so this is where you would have me locked in. What about a juicy , homemade, just how you like philly cheesesteak , this is the place to be. You can create an average cheesesteak to the way you want it . Every friend that I have talked to say that you can not a place you want to miss out on , but who doesn't love a cheese steak and fries ! I know that it my guilty pleasure!
The Cantina - Did I hear someone say Taco Tuesday?? Yes that right this is a true authentic Mexican restaurant. The Cantina is bet known for the fajitas and the authentic margaritas. On Saturday nights they have live music that plays. So who wouldn't love good Mexican food and live music, this is a place you probably do not want to miss out on.
The above is some ideas that can get started with some amazing date nights for some entertainment and some dining to just to ease the mind from your PCS move. No matter what do not try to keep yourself inside when moving to a new station always try and get out and drive around and see what your new town is all about. Don't worry if you get lost that's where the fun begins.
