Quantico

OHHH QUANTICO!!! Yes that's right I just said OHHH QUANTICO, when you PCS to Quantico there are so many sporting events going on all the time that you will never have the sports theme song out of your head. You will be singing OHH OHHH OHHHH OHHHH OHHH all the time!!  You are in the center of everything, with maybe an hour drive to any sporting event, which is amazing !

Quantico is the home of 28,000 military personnel, that includes active duty military, contractors and the retired who still currently work through the military installation.

"A true crossroads of the Corps, serving as the focal point for the Marine professional military education and training, Quantico leads the way in conceiving the strategies, operations and tactics, and developing the professional leadership necessary to meet our nation's challenges."

 Entertainment:

National Museum of the Marine Corps: This is a muesum for your bucket list. A plus is that admission is free, so grab the family and let's go! The Museum of the Marine Corps has everything involving their 200+ years. The museum has always held a special place in my heart; when my husband returned from Afghanistan in 2013, when every single Marine made it home the last flag they flew was folded and placed in this museum.

Festivals: If you are a person that loves to get out and experience new things, then festivals around Quantico are your way to go. Almost every weekend there is some type of festival going on, ranging from a holiday festival to a Renaissance Festival. During the summer months they have music, beer, and wine festivals, as well as carnivals.

Washington DC:  Washington DC is only about an hour away, we have made several trips and we have loved every one of them. The National Smithsonian's; the world's largest museum and research complex, with 19 museums, 9 research centers, and affiliates around the world. The museums include the Air and Space, Natural History, American History, and the Holocaust. Washington also has The War Memorials, presidential monuments,  Iwo Jima Memorial, and the White House! Grab your walking shoes though because you will get your steps in that day. Watch PCSing.com for your "Washington DC Tour" blog.

Iwo Jima and Arlington National Cemetery: Everyday at 12:00 PM they play taps; there is not much else to say, except take a deep breath and thank all those men and women who served our country.

After all of that walking you will be ready to sit down and grab a bite to eat.

Tim's Rivershore- Do you want to sit down by the river and enjoy some good seafood and a nice refreshing drink? Then stop at Tim`s. "A long-time local favorite among Woodbridge, VA restaurants, Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse is famous for its home-cooked seafood, a very unique atmosphere and the most scenic dining experience you will find in Northern Virginia."

Bella Café-  Bella Cafe is a local hangout bar. Bella is known for its food, live music, and Brainfreeze Shakes!

Pan E Vino- Pan E Vino is a family owned and operated restraunted offering authentic southern Italian. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a fine trattoria. This is a great date night option for those nights when the children are with a sitter. Grab a glass of wine and embrace the atmosphere.
