Child Development Center
McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) has one Child Development Center (CDC) on the plant. The CDC is certified by the Department of Defense and has between accredited with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1993. Most of the CDC staff has their CDA, associate or bachelor degree. The CDC has a planned curriculum which includes age appropriate activities in all area of development. There are many special activities and events as well as field trips throughout the year.
Eligibility
Those eligible for CYS programs are active duty military personnel, DOD civilian personnel, National Guard and Army Reserve, DOD contractors working on MCAAP, and retired military.
Registration
Registration is required for all CYS programs, and there may also be a waiting list for services based on availability. Contact CYS Central Registration at 918-420-6204 or visit the CYS link on the MWR website for more information.
Centers on Installation/Programs Available
There is one child development center located on McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Programs available include full day care for children 6 weeks through 5 years; part-time and hourly services are provided if space is available.
Hours of operation
The center is open Monday-Thursday 5:30 am to 5:30 pm. In addition, the center is open on Friday and Saturday when needed to accommodate workforce.
Family Child Care (FCC)
There are no FCC homes on McAlester Army Ammunition Plant at this time.
Youth Centers -- There is one Youth Center on the installation. Hours of Operation are 5:30 A.M. to 5:30 P. M.
